Sr. Energy Engineer

As a Sr. Energy Engineer, you will perform high-level analysis on complex technical and financial elements. As well as support engineering, process or financial tasks during solution design and oversees the work of assigned resources for medium to large projects. Manages aspects of client accounts including budgeting, account growth, risk mitigation, and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Perform site visits to conduct building energy audits to identify major energy consumption areas and optimize building operation, lighting, controls and HVAC equipment operation.
  • Ability to successfully work with client on-site staff to ensure operations and maintenance of assets/equipment are within contractual terms. Proactively reviews and/or interprets problems or patterns related to utility bills and energy consumption to limit risk and ensure a high level of customer satisfaction. As appropriate, solves issues when need for corrective action is identified. Ability to communicate with technical and non-technical clients, suppliers, etc.
  • Analyze billing and utility data (post project reviews, rates, weatherization, and anomalies).
  • Perform pre and post inspection site visits.
  • Review plans and project documents to perform quality control of surveys and installations.
  • Manages tools & processes that ensure timely collection and accurate data entry of utility bills or other monitored consumption sources. Initiates actions and develops positive customer relationships to support this activity.
  • Develop customer baselines/benchmarks, as needed.
  • Ensures delivered M&V costs are within 3% of estimated amounts.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Energy)
  • 1-5+ years in building systems/operations and/or a proven track record of performance in Electrical, Mechanical and Renewable Systems data collection/operation & building systems or operations.
  • Professional Engineer License preferred
  • Possession of Certified Energy Manager (CEM) certification preferred
  • Willing to travel up to 30%
  • Active in professional organization(s) such as ASHRAE, AEE, IFMA, BOMA, etc.

  • 1-5+ years in building systems/operations and/or a proven track record of performance in Electrical, Mechanical and Renewable Systems data collection/operation & building systems or operations.
  • Professional Engineer License preferred

Commissioning is a systematic process of assuring that a building performs in accordance with the design intent and the owner’s operational needs. As a Remote Commissioning Technician, you will work with our commissioning authorities on projects around the region.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Building mechanical systems site inspection and construction meetings
  • Technical report writing
  • Preparing functional test procedures for verifying operation of mechanical systems
  • Detailed HVAC systems testing and assessment
  • Proactive problem identification and resolution
  • Identify Energy Conservation Opportunities

  3. Provides technical direction and assistance to inspection personnel relating to field problems.
  4. Assess and resolve complaints received from clients, applicants, public, designers, and contractors.
  5. Regularly interacts directly with municipal and building clients and their staff.
  6. Attend meetings, educational seminars, and functions relating to building codes.

Skills

  • Demonstrated ability to exercise initiative and a considerable amount of independent judgment.
  • Extensive knowledge of local building codes and current construction procedures/technology.
  • Must possess the ability to positively interact with other staff members, the general public, contractors, governmental agencies, and other clientele.
  • Good time management, organization, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to prepare written plan review correspondence and update information into company software programs.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication.
  • Candidate must be able to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced atmosphere.
  • Candidate must stay familiar and up to date with different editions of the International Building Codes.
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office.

Certifications And Experience

  • FL Inspector License required
  • FL Contractors License
  • FL Professional Engineer (P.E.)
  • FL Plans Examiner License required

Business Development Manager

As a Business Development Manager, you will play an instrumental role in the connection between GAP Engineering Consulting Group and our prospective clients — listening, consulting, and building lasting relationships.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting the Senior Management in establishing and implementing business development objectives and strategies
  • Developing leads and meetings with clients via a variety of outreach techniques in order to sell construction services
  • Maintaining CRM (Client Relationship Management) tool for internal client base as well as managing proposal pipeline
  • Managing response coordination for all market research and is responsible for the overall execution and submittal of RFPs
  • Creating and attending meetings to present customized messages to new and existing clients
  • Identifying opportunities and/or clients and maintaining the sufficient sales pipeline needed to achieve strategic growth targets as defined by management
  • Participating and providing support to trade shows, conferences, and other sales-related functions as requested
  • Utilizing internal legal and/or management team resources to successfully negotiate contracts including NDAs, teaming agreements, etc.
  • Communicating client insights to Marketing to ensure that company messaging stays aligned with client needs
  • Providing client insights to project managers and team leads during the project delivery process
  • Communicating with project managers and technical staff to ensure client expectations align with project deliverables
  • Maintaining effective and ethical use of travel and expenses as defined by management and in accordance with company policies

What we are seeking in this team player

  • Must be willing to travel 20-30%, at times.
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business administration, engineering preferred,
  • 5-7 years of experience in the A/E/C market
  • Knowledge of federal procurement for defense and civilian agencies, preferred
  • Excellent motivational and influencing skills, with high level of personal integrity
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external clients
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to develop leads through a variety of options
  • Working knowledge of Local and State bidding tools
  • Working knowledge of FBO and GovWin tools, preferred
  • Solid, developed client network, preferred
